Lewis Carroll

"To me it seems that to give happiness is a far nobler goal that to attain it: and that what we exist for is much more a matter of relations to others than a matter of individual progress: much more a matter of helping others to heaven than of getting there ourselves."

drought eats up a hard earth

oh dear, have we lost it all
in trust and loyalty I left you
in blind submission and acquiescence
you bring before me a loss of your mighty will

how long will you daub at your sloth unrequited
founded by your lusts and fears
I have lost most when it comes down to an excuse for the loss of a relationship
seen in it's eyes as a getaway from the truth of being I have with my child

why have you lost yourself in its dumb possession,
poisoned by ignorance of heart
my heart, left to rot
your actions of friendship and unconditional love left aside
only to satisfy such evil intentions, withering without control, seemingly

owning and milling, narcissistic agenda bearing reign over you
when will you step up and take it off, declare yourself free,
forget those temporary pleasure and partake in kindness you must have

never thought I'd see such an ugly circumstance stand between us
I would have never journeyed by, discovering my own self if I saw such roots
I should have foreseen as to protect my relationship with my son
but the days pass us, moments missed
livelihood encountered not but love never ceasing

poison must exist for times like these but we must remember tomorrow
for another day, past the pain and darkness is sure to exist
somewhere far past

a day when things will be seen differently through young eyes
poor stolen soul, poor soul in the dust
poor gluttonous downfall bearing weight into the future
of a more keen mind must you witness for your own sake
for the sake of love, for humanity's sake

and not the sake of your comfort

rain must come to quench and to make live
